Kickoff General Session
Talking About Sustainable Agriculture by Farmers for Farmers
The business of farming is changing fast and pressures on farmers are mounting, especially around stewardship of land and water. Mitchell Hora, co-host of Field Work podcast
, will share some of the experiences about sustainable agriculture discussed on the show: what’s worked, what hasn't and why. He’ll also discuss how attitudes of others in the supply chain can influence whether farmers feel comfortable enough to try out new practices.
Mitchell Hora is a farmer and young entrepreneur from Washington, Iowa. His family has farmed in the area for over 100 years and has a strong focus on conservation. When Mitchell is not working with his father on their row crop farm, he runs a consulting company, Continuum Ag, and hosts a podcast focused on soil health.
