ACE Ethanol Conference - What It Takes

Didn't make it to the ACE Ethanol Conference in Omaha on August 14-16? Here's a recap of what you missed.
The ethanol industry gathered in Omaha, NE on August 15-16. Governor Ricketts kicked off the event with a suggestion on how to spread the benefits of ethanol production. We need to communicate to people, “You save money at the pump. Ethanol is great for the environment. Ethanol products helps our farmers.”

Much of the discussion following Governor Ricketts welcome revolved around the success of E15 being adopted for year around production. The need to keep communicating with EPA on how RFS waivers need to stop and the new markets around the world that are looking at renewable fuels.

Advances in the ethanol industry will be centered on utilizing DDGs for the high fiber or high protein diets that are needed depending on the animal species. Other opportunities for the ethanol industry is carbon indexing and carbon credits. As other regional areas explore carbon credits, the ethanol industry could be a beneficial fuel supplier.
