2008 NEBRASKA GRAIN & FEED ASSOCIATION HARVEST SAFETY DAY Sept. 11, 2008-NGF Office Conference Room 1233 Lincoln Mall, Lincoln, NE With fall harvest in mind, the Nebraska Grain and Feed Association (NGF) is pleased to join with the Omaha OSHA office, the Nebraska State Fire Marshall and Holmes-Murphy Insurance Company to present the 2008 NGF Harvest Safety Day, on September 11, 2008 at the NGF Conference Room, 1233 Lincoln Mall, Lincoln, NE The 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM workshop includes results of recent OSHA inspections including common but avoidable violations, and how to prepare for an OSHA inspection. Special emphasis will be placed on the hazards associated with working around grain storage bins and the correct approach to common procedures such as Lock Out - Tag Out, Confined Space Entry, Engulfment Response & Fall Protection. There will also be presentations on Fire Explosion & Prevention through Good Housekeeping & Electrical Maintenance, including a simulated Dust Explosion Demonstration. Finally, the workshop will key-in on Loss Control through Best Management Practices. A loss control professional will discuss Accident Causation Theory and implementing and sustaining an effective Loss Control program that not only protects your employees, but saves your company money! Members can attend the Safety Day workshop for $125 and non-members for $150. Tuition includes a FIRE SAFETY video and an accompanying Test Kit, shot at a local Nebraska grain elevator and feed mill featuring a Nebraska State Fire inspector illuminating common electrical and fire hazards your employees need to realize.
