Spring Area Meetings & Grain
Grading Combined!

Plan to attend one of the 2008 Nebraska Grain and Feed Association (NGF) Area Meetings that are being planned for this May and June. New this year, grain grading sessions will be held at each location before golf and depending on the area interest!

Golf, socializing, dinner and an informal meeting will highlight each area meeting. Dates, location and phone numbers are listed in the PDF. A grain grading short course on corn, soybeans and wheat will
be offered during the morning of each NGF Area Meeting. Headlining the grading presentation will be Jim Whalen with the USDA, FGIS out of Kansas City. Anyone who has attended a course on grain grading with Jim comes away with an excellent understanding of the grading procedures. Instructions will include a thorough discussion of the steps necessary to obtain and handle a representative sample, as well as what to look for in order to recognize various types of kernel damage and how to properly grade a sample. This workshop will use a “hands on” approach with participants being encouraged to openly discuss problems and procedures. All attendees will be provided with the tools necessary to process samples during the class, as well as copies of the “Official United States Standards for Grain Booklet”.

Please fill out and fax back the form indicating your interest in the grain grading sessions and/or golf, and the number of persons who would attend each!  Your interest will determine if NGF offers the Grain Grading course at every Area Meeting. Download form (PDF) »
