NGF SEEKING COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS Nebraska Grain and Feed Association (NGF) president Jan Mosby has announced that several committee assignments are currently vacant, and the Association is seeking interested volunteers to fill these slots. “We have four regular standing committees, as well as the newly formed Bio Fuels committee,” said Mosby. “These committees have offered the Board with guidance and input on important issues, however it has been difficult to maintain an active dialogue over the past few years and we need to revitalize our committees.” Following are the current committees and their mission statements. Transportation Committee The Transportation Committee will provide the industry leadership and consensus building crucial to the transportation need of members, especially as they relate to rail issues. Membership Services, Education and Recruitment Committee The Purpose of the Membership Services, Education and Recruitment Committee is to assist Association staff in the development of new and existing services, identification and development of training programs, topics and curriculum important to our member's continuing education needs as well as new member recruitment activities. Legislative, Regulatory and Environmental Committee The Legislative, Regulatory and Environmental Services Committee will concentrate on the areas of general policy review and development, regulatory reform and issue advocacy. The committee will develop policy on environmental issues. While the committee will be responsible in coordinating with staff in the development of legislative and regulatory strategy on many given issues, it will also closely coordinate with other committees in drafting and reconciling policy resolutions that warrant legislative or regulatory action. Feed and Agricultural Products Committee The Feed and Agricultural Products Committee will focus on activities in the regulatory and policy areas of feed, feed ingredients and animal nutrition. The Committee will also monitor issues including, but not limited to: fertilizers, chemicals, seed and allied products. Ethanol & Bio Fuels Committee The Ethanol & Bio Fuels Committee will provide leadership and understanding in bringing ethanol producers, elevators and grain dealers together for the collective common interest of the states grain trade. The committee will direct staff in the development of bio fuel activities and educational workshops, as well as in the regulatory and policy areas of bio fuels development. If you are interested in serving on one of these committees, please contact Jan, or Pat at the Association office, 402-476-6174.
